In early December our Ugandan colleagues completed the preparations that they could make for deploying two dozen water boxes to test households. Recruitment of participant households and distribution of the units is planned for January. We dispatched a shipment to Uganda in mid December that included a UV light meter, 100 more drinking water test kits, and some spare parts and tools. Those supplies are expected to arrive about the time field trial work resumes this month. We plan to ship additional test kits quite soon.

I won’t have final $ numbers for another week or two, but we already know that we finished the year with enough money in the project account to pay for the completion of the field trial as currently planned. Thank you, donors! We’ll update the figures on this website when we get them nailed down.

Work continued here at home in Oregon during December. It took the form of developing a computer simulation model of the water box. There is more info in the monthly blog post on the News page of the www.uv-h2o-box.com website.
